Easily Add a Favicon on a WordPress Business Website

Hi, all! In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how
to add a custom Favicon to your business website. What is a Favicon? Basically, it’s an icon that appears in your
browser like you see here. That G, that’s the one for Google. This one here for WordPress. So, I’m going to show you how to add that
for your own business website, and using our JimsPhysio.com sample website to do that as
an example. First, log in to your WordPress dashboard. Go down to plugins. Add new. Now we will find a plugin called, “All in
One Favicon.” So we’ll just search for Favicon. It should come up. There it is there. Install now, and activate the plugin. Next, we just need to set up the plugin, so
all in one Favicon, the settings. There are three file-image types that we can
use with this plugin, the .ICO, .GIF, or .PNG. Now, you can only use one of these file extensions. So make sure your image is in the appropriate
extension. I’ve got a few sample logos on my desktop
that I’m going to use for this. You’ll see that they’re a large rectangle,
but they need to be cropped, so that it’s a square. So that it appears in the same dimensions
that you want it to appear. I’m just going to use Photoshop quickly to
crop that. You could use anything you need. Okay, so I’m going to use that there as my
Favicon. All you need to do is upload your Favicon
based on if it’s a .ICO, a GIF, or a PNG. Mine was a PNG, and upload in the front-end
settings section. Don’t worry about back-end settings or anything
else. The reason being your visitors are only going
to see your website from the front end, and not from WordPress back end. You don’t really need to upload anything here
unless you want to. Hit the upload button. Find the file, and save changes. Now let’s go to our website to see if that’s
taken effect. There we have it. There’s our Favicon right there. To see what it looks like in explorer, just
to check. Yes. It looks perfect. All that’s necessary to upload your own Favicon. It just took a couple of minutes. If you have any questions or comments, please
ask in the comments below and feel free to e-mail us in case we’re not able to solve
your query. Thanks for watching.
