How To Make a Free Website Using WordPress | 2018 Step-By-Step Guide

Have you ever thought of creating your
own business website but found out that it’s too difficult or too expensive?
Maybe you’re just starting and you don’t have enough funds to create your own
business website? Not a problem I’m Rokas from and in
this video I’ll show you how I can get a web hosting and a website for absolutely
free! If that’s what you’re looking for then you’re watching the right video.
Let’s go! Obviously we need to go to, the place where
your website building journey begins. When the home page loads up you need to
head to the sign up tab and create your account. Enter the email address you want
to use to log in to your account, enter the password twice, the then press “sign
up”. As you can see we are already in our cPanel. There is a whole range of
different options that we can choose from. However, we will only focus on only
one today building a WordPress website. Let’s click on the build a website
button, then press “install WordPress”. WordPress is a website building platform
that is simple and easy to use. If you’re absolutely new to WordPress you’ll see
that it’s much easier to create a website than it seems. Now simply enter
the information you will use later to log into your WordPress admin panel,
enter your username and password, make sure to create a decent password so that
other people can’t guess it, choose the website name that you will build on
WordPress, and finally choose the language you want your WordPress admin
panel to be in. Then press “install”. As you can see WordPress is now being
installed and will soon be ready to use. For me the installation of WordPress
took about three minutes. It’s really fast! After the installation is complete
press “go to configuration panel”. Once you’re there enter, the details you just
created to log into your WordPress admin panel. There we go, you’re in the admin
panel now. WordPress is known for its huge variety of easy and simple
customisation options, so as you can see we have a lot of opportunities for
creativity. However in this video we’ll cover just the very basics of the
process. Don’t worry no serious or complicated coding experience will be
needed! So let’s press “Customise Site”. We’re now
halfway to creating your website and we’re at the most fun part! We’re going
to customise the websites appearance and define how it will look.
First of all, we suggest starting with a template. Let’s press “change” near the
current theme name then press “WordPress themes”. Here you can see many different
free templates you can use for your website. Depending on your business type your activity and basically your needs choose the best template for you. In this
video tutorial I’m going to show you how you can edit any template. Hmm.. which one
to choose? I’ll go with Hestia! I’m a huge fan of mountains which is why this
template stood out to me. In fact, I believe that this template will work
very simplistic and also very attractive. Let’s press “Install and preview”. While
we’re waiting for the template to be installed, let’s listen to some relaxing
music. Alright, times up, let’s work! So here you
can see the look of your current website: all the texts buttons and images are
default. However you can customise all of them into the way you want them to look.
So let’s say we want the header image to be different. All we have to do is press
the blue edit button on the top right of the screen, and once the customisation
bar appears press “change image” and upload the one that you think will look
the best. There we go, that’s a good fit! Now let’s
say we want to change the default text and write something that shows our
business area or expertise. Because we’re a company that provides people with web
hosting services, we want them to be always happy. That’s what we’ll write
here. Done! Also, we’re going to change your website’s title. Let’s go to the
site identity group and write whatever you feel is important for your website’s
visitors. If you think that this place doesn’t need any text, simply delete it. What’s more, you can do that across the whole website by editing all the texts
and adding new ones, if needed. In fact if you want to change the font of the text,
you can do that by going to “appearance settings” pressing “typography” and
choosing the fonts you want to use for the heading and body.
What kind of business doesn’t have a logo? A business that doesn’t exist! And
I’m sure your business does have a logo or at least will have soon. So if you
want to upload your logo go to “site identity” and press “add logo”. There we go now! Your website will look
even better and credible. Last but not least, we also want to let our customers
know how they can find us. Let’s head to the navigation section which is at the
bottom of the website. If you think that you need extra widgets you can add them
as well by going to “widgets” choose the footer that you want to add the button
to (we will choose footer one for this one), and add the widget you want. You can
choose anything from a calendar to a search bar! There we go our website looks
pretty good now. Well done! Of course this website needs some work to be put in but
it’s looking pretty sharp already. So now you should have at least a brief
understanding how to create and make some basic edits to a WordPress website.
That’s right, it’s really that simple and easy. Before we end this video, I just
wanted to offer you one more tool that will help you protect your website. It’s
a free plugin called Wordfence. Wordfence is a highly recommended plugin. Go to
the “plugins” section and type Wordfence in the search bar. Once you find it, press
“install” and then “activate”. The plugin will ask you to provide with an email
which will be used to receive all notifications and alerts. After you’re
asked to enter a premium key, if you don’t have it, just simply press “no,
thanks”. Also, if you want the plugin to always be up-to-date, press “yes, enable
auto-update”. Finally, click here to configure download a backup of your .htaccess file in case of any accidents and press “continue”. Wordfence
is working and your website is protected! Let us know what you think about this
video in the comments below what would be the next video tutorial you would
like to see! We enjoyed doing this tutorial and we’d love to make another
one! Last of all, if you want to learn more about WordPress feel free to check
out our Hostinger tutorials! Link is in the description below. Thanks again so
much for watching and I’ll hopefully see you in the next video!

  1. I'm trying to do this and WordPress does not let you customize their free themes, it keeps going to themes you have to pay for does not seem to be working, too complicated
